Issue
Moving away from home for the first time brings a wave of exciting opportunities and challenges, but the safety of students, particularly when walking home, should not be one of those challenges.
It is alarming to note that a significant 80% of students express discomfort and a lack of safety when walking home. This is particularly prevalent in the darker winter months when the freshers nights begin.
In new surroundings, walking back from nights out, a friend’s house or even a late night library session can be a daunting experience.
